KATALIN PÓCS MEMORIAL CONCERT

1 June 2024. 6:00 pm
Budapest Music Center - Library
1093 Budapest, Mátyás utca 8.

Composer Katalin Pócs would have turned 60 in June 2023, and passed away in 2019. Her oeuvre consists of more than 150 compositions and is largely unknown even to professionals. She was a student of Emil Petrovics at the Academy of Music. Her friends and admirers thought to organise a memorial concert in her honour at the Budapest Msuic Center's Library.
The concert will feature a selection of her chamber music works interpreted by performers with whom the composer had the pleasure of working. Katalin Pócs's diverse and genre-varied oeuvre, scores and manuscripts are currently preserved in the Archives for 20th-21st Century Hungarian Music at  the Institute of Musicology of the BTK.
The organisers of the concert sincerely hope that her oeuvre will not be forgotten.
