100 years... On February 19, 2026, György Kurtág, the epoch-making Hungarian composer, two-time Kossuth Prize winner, three-time Erkel Ferenc Prize winner, pianist and chamber music teacher, will celebrate his 100th birthday. The members of the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra will greet him on this day with a special concert.
Every long career as a composer begins somehow. The artists of the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Kurtág's earliest chamber works at this concert, and the program will be framed by two special chamber works by Bach and Beethoven, two composers who were also influential to Kurtág. Meet the young György Kurtág and his role models on this evening!
