Gábor Weisz was born in Paks, Hungary. He began to study music at the age of eight, starting with the trumpet, then, after six years, he switched to saxophone. He soon became first saxophonist of local ensemble Szekszárd Big Band, and later on continued his studies at the jazz department of Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest, where he graduated at in 2004.
It was during the years at the Academy that Gábor became a member of the Hungarian Central Fire Brigade Big Band where he has been a key soloist for the past fifteen years. The Big Band regularly plays at high rank state ceremonies as well as at festivals, both in Hungary and internationally.
