(Prä)modern+ Concerts: Szilárd Benes and Nikolas Lazic
5 July 2026, 07:00 pm.
FUGA Budapest Center of Architecture
1052 Budapest, Petőfi Sándor utca 5.
The collaboration between clarinetist Szilárd Benes and accordionist Nikolas Lazic began during their university years. Over the years, their duo has performed in prestigious concert halls and at festivals across Europe and Asia, and in 2018 they were invited to the legendary Carnegie Hall in New York, where they made their debut to great acclaim.
The pandemic brought international concert life - and with it, the duo’s activities - to a halt. Now, however, they are returning to the stage with renewed creative energy and a fresh artistic vision. Their latest project combines the refined elegance of Baroque music with the free and innovative expression of contemporary music. Masterpieces of the past and the creative thinking of the present converge in a single musical arc, opening up new perspectives for the listener.
The concert explores the connections between Baroque and contemporary music, creating a sensitive and thought-provoking musical dialogue between different eras and creative approaches.
