Haydn spent his entire life composing quartets with 48 years between his first and last string quartets - more than Schumann's entire life. And the romantic master wrote almost all his chamber music in a single year. György Kurtág's art is closely linked to both great predecessors. In this year's Dohnányi Quartet concert series, the string quartets of these three composers offer a glimpse into the depth and diversity of the genre.
