Pintér Dávid

Dávid Pintér was born in 1983 in Mór. He begun to play the violin when he was 6 years old. He was a pupil of István Káté in Veszprém. He studied at the Bartók Conservatoire until 2000, where his teachers were Teréz Pichner and Erika Petőfi. He was admitted to Liszt Academy and graduated in 2007, his professor was István Kertész. After university he studied at Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe in the class of Ulf Hoelscher, he was given here in 2008 the scholarship of Oscar und Vera Ritter-Stiftung. Than he continued to study at Liszt Academy's DLA training and graduated summa cum laude in 2016.
He took part in master classes of Ulf Hoelscher, Vilmos Szabadi, Ferenc Szecsődi, Simon Standage, Olaf Adler, Zakhar Bron and Eduard Zienkovsky. He won several music competition e.g.: special award of the János Koncz National Competition Szombathely (1992, 2001), 1st place and Pro Arte Gold Medalion of X. OMDK of Szeged (2005), 4th place of the Canetti International Violin Competition (2005), 2nd place as a member of Rondo Quartet of Leo Weiner Competition (2006, 2010), Artisjus Special Prize of József Szigeti International Violin Competition (2007), special award of Károly Flesch National Violin Competition in Mosonmagyaróvár (2008).
He was the principal violinist in the Orchestra of Hungarian State Opera from 2011 until 2018. He teaches from 2012 at Liszt Academy. He is the concertmaster of Budapest Concert Orchestra MÁV from 2018. He is also a founding member of Dohányi Quartet (former Rondo Quartet). They played together e.g. with Ferenc Rados, Bartók Quartet and Stuller Quartet. Their fist CD was published in 2017.
He married Rita Váray pianist, they often give concerts in Hungary, and they formed together with Ferenc Szűcs cellist Trio Ritorno.
