She graduated from the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music as the student of Dénes Kovács. She had numerous successful appearances in Hungarian and international competitions where she won prizes several times. She has been giving concerts all over the world, she makes recordings for radio and television stations, and CDs as well, and often performs works of contemporary composers. Since 1975 she has been a teacher at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music. Many of her students have successfully performed at national and international competitions. She has been asked several times to hold lectures in Hungary and abroad, as well as to be jury member at various famous competitions. She was decorated with the Liszt Prize and with other state prizes of the Hungarian Republic. Recently in 2002 she was awarded with Béla Bartók-Ditta Pásztory Award and then in 2007 she received the title of Excellent Artist. She was given the Kossuth Prize in 2023.
