violin
Éva Osztrosits started playing the violin at the age of 7, with Emőke Brandiszné Szép, then continued her studies with Zsolt Kalló at the Szombathely Secondary School of Art. At the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest she studied with Katalin Kokas, and from 2017 she continued her studies with Melinda Berlász as a student of the Doctoral School of the University. On 22 May 2024, she gave her final violin DLA concert in the Great Hall of the Liszt Academy.
She has won numerous prizes, including 2nd prize at the 2010 National Dénes Kovács Violin Competition, 1st prize at the VI. National Chamber Music Competition a year later, the 2014 National Ede Zathureczky Violin Competition Nívoprize and the Special Prize for the best Hungarian piece. In 2016, she won 1st prize in the Sonata category at the Leó Weiner National Chamber Music Competition and 2nd prize in the String Quartet category as a member of the Kruppa String Quartet.
In 2016 she was awarded the Republican Scholarship and was the only Hungarian to win the Yamaha Scholarship.
She has participated in renowned festivals such as the International Chamber Music Festival in Lockenhaus, Kaposfest, the Budapest Festival Academy, the Auer Lipót Violin Festival, the Budapest Spring Festival, the Intonation-Hungarian Contemporary Music Festival, the Heidelberger Frühling Festival, Arcus Temporum and the Quartettissimo String Quartet Festival.
She has played with such renowned performers as Vilde Frang, Nicolas Altstaedt, Barnabás Kelemen, Katalin Kokas, Alina Ibragimova, Alina Pogostkina, Jose Gallardo, Zsolt Fejérvári, Maxim Rysanov, László Fenyő, Ilya Gringolts, Csaba Klenyán, James Boyd, Ditta Rohmann, Dezső Ránki and Fülöp Ránki.
She has also performed as soloist with the Austro-Hungarian Haydn Orchestra, the Savaria Symphony Orchestra, Concerto Budapest, the Kodály Philharmonic Orchestra of Debrecen and the Camerata Pro Musica chamber orchestra.
She has participated in master classes of outstanding artists such as Gábor Takács-Nagy, Barnabás Kelemen, Zakhar Bron, Katalin Kokas, András Keller, Vilde Frang, Alina Pogostkina, Imre Rohmann, Eugene Drucker (Emerson Quartet), Ulf Schneider, Jonathan Cohen, Rita Wagner, Márta Gulyás, Glen Dicterow, Sándor Devich, János Devich, Péter Komlós, Simon Standige, Antal Zalai.
In 2018, at the Ede Zathureczky Competition, she was awarded the master's Rogeri violin and the master's Sartory violin train for four years.
In 2019, her string quartet Kruppa Quartet was admitted to the European Chamber Music Academy. In the same year, she became a member of the Korossy Quartet, with whom she is working to pass on the Hungarian string quartet tradition and build up a wide repertoire.
In 2020 she was given the Junior Prima Award. In 2021, as a member of the Korossy Quartet, she was awarded five different prizes at the international Bartók World Competition. In 2022, also as a member of the Korossy Quartet, she was able to begin his chamber music studies at the Reina Sofia University in Madrid, where she studied with Günter Pichler, and received the Kocsis-Hauser Board of Trustees' Zoltán Kocsis Prize.
