This year, one of Hungary’s leading brass ensembles, the Corpus Trombone Quartet, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. To date, they have won four international competitions. In 2024, the Hungarian Ministry of Culture and Innovation awarded the quartet the Ferenc Liszt Prize. Numerous Hungarian composers have written pieces for them, and they have been awarded the Artisjus Prize three times for premiering these works. Their concerts usually feature a selection of these compositions – this will also be the case for this evening’s performance, which includes a world premiere. The Corpus Trombone Quartet’s main sponsor is the Michael Rath instrument-maker workshop in England.
