09:20
Library

The song is probably one of the oldest art forms that brings language and music into play at the same time. It has an inexplicably rich history and an infinite number of versions. This Hungarian-language conference, organised jointly by the Institute for Literary Studies, the Academy of Music and the Institute for Musicology, is open to everyone interested and will focus on the many different forms of song. Brahms, Kurtág, Karády, hip-hop, death metal and many other topics will be brought together, and the diversity of speakers and approaches will certainly generate exciting debates and a genuine interdisciplinary discourse. The conference will close with a live premiere of Veronika Harcsa's latest project, Schubert NOW!.

Organized by: András Kappanyos (HUN-REN BTK Institute for Literary Studies); Gergely Fazekas (Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music); Ádám Ignácz (HUN-REN BTK Institute for Musicology)
