3rd Budapest Clavichord Days

Ch. F. D Schubart appointed the clavichord as a lonely, melancholic and an inexpressibly sweet instrument, in its heyday in the late 18th century. Keyboard players appreciated the specialty of the clavichord – simple mechanism, direct and sensitive touch, stillness close to silence, possibility of intonation – for centuries. Clavichord has its worldwide renaissance in these days. The Budapest Clavichord Days, to be held for the third time, gives a cross-section of the possible repertoire on the instrument through a diversity of styles, genres and musical instruments. During the occasion of the four concerts of the mini-festival it will be possible to get acquainted closer with the instrument as well. Guest artists of the festival are: Anna Maria McElwain (Finland) and Zsombor Tóth-Vajna. Artistic Director: Ágnes Ratkó and Dóra Pétery.
