Since its foundation in 2010, the Anima Musicae Chamber Orchestra has made it its vocation to perform contemporary music. So far, they have performed nearly eighty works dedicated to the orchestra. The first in the series was a work by composer Péter Tornyai (Ach Gott und Herr), which has won several international prizes. Together with the composer Péter Tornyai, the orchestra has also launched a contemporary music workshop since autumn 2013, aimed at embracing openness and inclusiveness towards contemporary music.

The connecting word of their upcoming programme is 'colour', with the variety of ways in which this visual concept can manifest itself in sound. Through their musical journey, we can glimpse Japanese and Indian music through the refraction of Western classical culture, glimpse the transformation of Bach and Gregorian melodies, visualise the blue hues of sound, and experience the transcendental state of inner prayer.
