5 April 2025. 6:00 pm
Budapest Music Center - Library
1093 Budapest, Mátyás utca 8.
Music from the time of the lean kine, condensed into a composed program, in the spirit of Liszt and Bach.
"In the middle of the journey of our life"
beyond
"I came to myself, in a dark wood,
where the direct way was lost.
[…]
But, in order to tell of the good that I found there,
I must tell of the other things I saw there."
(Dante/A. S. Kline)
Liszt addresses Bach through the chorale genre, with the B-A-C-H motif itself appearing in one of the introductions, which then appears in the Commentaries, as well as in the Preludium and Postludium that frame the program. And Via Crucis is based not only on the Commentaries but also on a piece written in memory of Ferenc Varga, which includes also a silent play.
