CHAMBER MUSIC COMPOSITIONS BY KRISZTINA MEGYERI

15 April 2024. 6:00 pm
Budapest Music Center - Library
1093 Budapest, Mátyás utca 8.

Krisztina Megyeri is one of the most outstanding composer of her generation. Her teachers at the Academy of Music were Attila Bozay, János Vajda and Zoltán Jeney. After studying composition and piano accompaniment in France, she also studied musicology, specialising in contemporary opera. She obtained a doctorate in composition in 2013.

In 2023, she released her own album, HORIZON BRŰLÉ, featuring three song-cycles: song cycles in Hungarian (Weöres, Attila József), Russian and French, performed by Nóra Tatai and János Ferenc Szabó.

This concert will feature chamber works composed by Krisztina Megyeri in the last two years, interpreted by great performers: a string quartet and two chamber pieces, and a song cycle to short poems by the poet Ágnes Brokés.
