Born in 1967 in Budapest, he started to play the violin at the age of eight. In 1991 he graduated with distinction from the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy of Music where his professors included Béla Bánfalvi, András Csontha, Sándor Devich, György Kurtág and János Devich. In 1988 he won 2nd Prize at the Zathureczky Violin Competition, in 1990 with Márta Kovalszky 1st Prize at the Leó Weiner Chamber Music Competition. Between 1988 and 1990 he was concert master of the Student Orchestra of the Franz Liszt Academy. In 1990 he participated in the master class of Wolfgang Marschner in Weimar. Between 1992 and 1994 he was postgraduate student of the Music Academy of Freiburg where be obtained his diploma in 1994. Since 1994 he has been member of the Budapest Festival Orchestra. In 1994 he founded the Erdődy Chamber Orchestra specializing primarily in 18th and 19th century repertoire related to Hungary.
