Gábor Kollmann obtained his diploma from the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy in 1999. For a period of time he was a private student of Mihály Borbély, then Harry Sokal. Since 1995 he has performed and recorded with various bands including KADA, the Attila Blaho Quartet and the Pege Quartet. He played in Germany on several occasions. Being a member of the Budapest Jazz Orchestra for years has been a decisive experience for him, as he considers playing in a big band of foremost importance.
