Bernát Tószegi was born in Algeria in 1975. He started playing the recorder at the age of eight, then moved on to play the clarinet three years later.
Became a student at the Béla Bartók Conservatorium of Music, Budapest, Hungary in 1989., where he had the opportunity to study with Prof. László Kraszna. After getting his secondary school diploma as clarinet player in 1993., he sucessfully passed the audition to the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest, where - as a student of Prof. Tibor Dittrich - he recieved his Diploma with Distinction as Solo Clarinetist in 1998.
Throughout the years he attended many masterclasses, held by world-famous musicians, such as Sabina Meyer, S. Friedli or Mr Ferenc Kesztler.
He is prize winner of several international competitions, held in Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Japan. He is original member and first solo clarinet player of the Danubia Symphony Orchestra, Budapest from 1995. He is also original member as tenor saxophonist, of the Budapest Saxophone Quartet, founded in 1995.
The Quartet got their Masters Degree in Chamber Music as a student of Prof. László Hadady at Conservatoire Superior de Paris, France in 2004.
