Adamik Gábor

Gábor Adamik started his musical studies in Béla Bartók High School of Music, Budapest (1982-1986), then he was admitted to Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest in 1986. He graduated in 1991. He has been taken part many masterclasses too e.g. Roger Bobo - Hammelburg, Germany and Riva, Italy (1991-1997).
He won several competitions: National High School Brass Competition, Miskolc: first prize in the tuba category and grand prize in the overall competition, 1984 / International Brass Chamber Music Competition, Barcs: first prize, 1986 - as a member of the Music Academy Brass Quintet / Maurice André International Brass Quintet Competition, Narbonne, France: second prize, 1991 / International Brass Quintet Competition, Gmünd, Austria: second prize, 1991.
He has been a founding member of Music Academy Brass Quintet from 1986. He was a member of Brummadza Tuba Quartet 1995-2006. And he has been playing in Heavy Brass Guys Tuba Quartet from 2007. He is also an orchestra member of the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra and Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra.
