Drummer Gábor Ágoston completed his jazz studies at the Ferenc Erkel Secondary School of Jazz and Music. It was there that he met Tamara Mózes, with whom he founded the Tamarazene duo in 2007; together they won the Ki-látó Talent Contest in 2008 and went on to perform together for years. Gábor Ágoston has also performed with several other groups. Following the 2006 Lamantin Jazz Camp, he founded Koala Fusion with Dávid Tóth, Gergő Kováts, Máté Pozsár and Juli Kása; a few months later, they won the Balatonfüred Jazz Talent Contest. Thanks to this, they released their first album, titled Egy izsapi lány, in 2008. They performed at numerous venues both in Hungary and abroad (Szeged, Tata, Germany, Transylvania, Budapest). They released a joint album with György Kurtág Jr. titled Walk on Water.
In October 2007, he formed the Babám Band with Dávid Tóth, Gergő Kováts, Máté Pozsár, and Juli Kása, and they made their debut that same year at the Cross Border Jazz Festival held on the A38 ship. He remained the band’s drummer until 2009. They performed at the Sziget Festival, the Tordas Festival, and frequently played at the Gödör Club on Erzsébet Square (Budapest).
He was the drummer for the band Boogie Mamma and was a member of the band The Subotage from 2013 to 2014. He is currently a member of the band Vörösfenyő, formed in 2010, alongside violinist Andi György and guitarist Balázs Krisztián Nagy. The band regularly performs at clubs in Budapest and at festivals across the country. Vörösfenyő’s repertoire includes original songs as well as Hungarian and international covers, all rearranged for the band’s lineup.
