Máté Pozsár received his Master's degree from the jazz department of the Liszt Academy of Music in 2012, as a student of Károly Binder. He is a regular member of the Grencsó Real Time Collective and has played in formations such as the Szilárd Mezei Septet, the Boglárka Bábiczki Quartet, the AMP Trio, Dániel Váczi's Trio, Péter Ajtai's Mingus Mingus Mingus Orchestra, Ágnes Lakatos' Orchestra, in various occasional formations and, of course, his own formation, the Máté Pozsér Sextet (formed in 2019) and the Decolonise Your Mind Society.

At the heart of his thinking is jazz and free, improvised music. His first solo piano album was released in 2011 after several releases with orchestras. His book Jazz Theory was published in 2016. He has been teaching music for more than 10 years. Most of his teaching career was spent at the Bartók Conservatory. As a teacher at the Vienna Konservatorium Budapest Teacher Training College he taught theory and piano. From the academic year 2020-2021 he has been a lecturer in the jazz department of the Liszt Academy of Music.
