Júlia Pusker was born in 1991 in Kecskemét into a family of musicians. He started to play the violin when she was only 5 years old.
She began her musical education in Budapest in 2005 at the Franz Liszt Academy as a pupil of Katalin Kokas and István Kertész before moving to England in 2011 to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London with György Pauk, where she received her Master of Music degree with distinction in 2016. Since then, she has been working with Augustin Dumay at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Brussels, where she is Associate Artist-in-Residence.
She came to international attention in her prizewinning performances at the prestigious 2019 Queen Elisabeth Violin Competition in Brussels. Alongside this success she has been a recipient of various notable prizes, such as the renowned Junior Prima Prize (2014) and Cziffra Festival Prize (2019) in Hungary, honouring the country’s finest young musicians.
Highlights in the 2020/21 season includes concerto appearances with Belgian National Orchestra, Brussels Philharmonic, Budapest Symphony Orchestra, Danubia Orchestra Óbuda, Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra, London Mozart Players, Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra and Zuglo Philharmonics Budapest. She has given recitals and taken part in festivals and masterclasses across Europe, including Besançon Music Festival, IMS Prussia Cove, the Holland International Music Sessions, Kronberg Academy and Santander Festival Academy.
Julia Pusker played on a 1690 Matteo Goffriller violin on loan from Michael Guttman's Collection, and since 2024 she has been heard on a 1714 Massart-Stradivarius violin donated by György Pauk.
