He graduated from the Pécs Teacher Training College in 1980, majoring in Hungarian and Music. Between 1985 and 1995, he worked as teacher of music, conducting, and theory of music at Zoltán Kodály Grammar School in Pécs.
In 1981, he founded Do-La-studio that makes and publishes records of classical music. Since its foundation, the studio issued about 360 recordings, and besides these, it has produced recordings for Hungaroton Classic, Naxos, Marco Polo, Koch Schwann, Re Nova Classics and Somm Records.
László Dobos founded Bach Singers in 1985, of which he was leader until 1999. He conducted, among others, on studio concerts of the Hungarian Radio, concerts of the National Philharmonic Society in Austria, Poland, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Denmark.
