The vocal group called UniCum Laude was formed in 1994 in Pécs, Southern Hungary. The members of the group are József Csapó - counter-tenor, Árpád Meláth - tenor, Arnold Mits- tenor, Csaba Pécsi - baritone, Csaba Kutnyánszky - baritone, László Dobos - bass. Each member is very well experienced in choral singing, some of them even sing solo. Chamber music is a real challenge to all the singers providing a possibility to carry through individual conceptions. In its own name, UniCum Laude reflects its programme policy that is based on the rarely heard, unique pieces from the wide layers of the history of music.

The repertoire of the group includes renessaince sacred music and the most spectacular pieces of madrigals, as well as of contemporary modern music or those arrangements of evergreens of high standard which can be heard on their 1998 CD. Six male voices singing may sound very peculiar.

The Hungarian Radio has recorded their programme several times; a portrait film was made by the Hungarian Television in 1998. A collection of Christmas songs came out in 2001, and in the autumn of 2005, their sacred music entitled Lamentation. UniCum Laude is a regular participant of the concert-series organized by the "Filharmonia" Music Society. The group has given concerts in Austria, Poland, Germany, Italy, Romania, Slovenia and France.
