In his musical studies and work, János Csaba Somos has had a formative experience with the Kodály Choir of Debrecen and the opera choir of the Csokonai Theatre in Debrecen. He graduated from the Academy of Music in 1994 as a student of Valér Jobbágy, István Párkai and Péter Erdei. He was an active participant in the master classes of Jürgen Jürgens, Johannes Moesus, J. Jackmann and Yuri Simonov.
Since 2000 he has been the conductor of the Csokonai Theatre in Debrecen, since 2002 he has been the artistic director of the Lajos Vass Chamber Choir, and from 2005 he was the music director of the National Theatre in Pécs for two years. Since 2008 he has been the director of the Hungarian Radio Choir. He has been a guest conductor in Japan, Italy, France, Spain, Russia and other countries.
