Tibor Maruzsa (1960) began to play the horn when he was ten years old. He graduated from Ferenc Lisz Academy of music in Budapest with professor Zoltán Lubik in 1983.
From 1981 to 1992 he was fourth horn player of the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra. In 1985 he was invited by the World Orchestra to Stockholm (Sweden). He has recorded many concertos for two horns with Barnabás Kubina (D.S.O. Berlin) and Ádám Friedrich. He also plays nature horn.
From 1989 to 1995 he regularly took part in the work of the "Wiener Academie". He was many times invited to perform with the Concentus Musicus in Vienna directed by Nicolaus Harnoncourt. From 1996 he has been teacher of horn at St. Stephen King Conservatory of Music in Budapest.
He was member of the Budapest Festival Orchestra, where he played second and fourth horn from 1992 to 2000.
Since September of 2000 he is the fourth horn player of the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra.
