Miklós Nagy (1963) began to play the horn at the age of seven.

He continued his studies at Béla Bartók Conservatory and Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest with professor Ádám Friedrich, where he graduated from in 1986.

Between 1984 and 1988 he was solo horn of the Hungarian Symphony Orchestra and then from 1989 solo horn of the Hungarian State Symphony Orchestra until the foundation of the Budapest Festival Orchestra where he played first horn from 1992 to 1996 and 1999 to 2000.

Between 1996 and 1999 he was appointed professor of horn at the Musashino Academy of Music in Tokyo and the Tokyo Metropolitan Fine Arts University. Since 1987 he has also been member of the Budapest Wind Ensemble.

He took part at many international horn competitions with great success: 1985 Geneva (Switzerland) 3rd. prize; 1986 Markneukirchen (Germany) 1st.prize; 1992 Duino (Italy) 1st. prize.

Since September of 2000 he is solo horn of the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg.
