Dániel Kardos was born in 1976 in Budapest. He started playing the mandolin and the guitar at the age of 13. He took his first lessons in jazz from Ferenc Tornóczky at the age of 18. For more than two years he studied at the jazz faculty of the Rubin College of Music in Jerusalem. In 1998 he moved back to Hungary.

He graduated in 2003 from the jazz faculty of the Ferenc Liszt College of Music, becoming a jazz musician and teacher. His masters have been Gyula Babos and Sandor Horanyi.

As a third-year colleger Dániel Kardos founded his band called „Kardos Négyes” which is playing his own compositions. During the last few years he has composed the music for several film of Sandra Kogut and Diana Groo. His is a mermber of the band Ektar, which is playing contemporary chamber music, and also a member of the Tin-Tin Quintet, a leading Hungarian ethnojazz group.

He has performed at many European Festivals including the following ones: Redentore Festival – Venezia; Musica Etnica Ungheria - Venezia; World Music Festival Tabarka - Tunesia; Tropentheater - Amsterdam; De doelen-Concert en congresgebouw - Rotterdam; Dom Umetnosti - Kanizsa; Provance Festival-France
