Anikó Horváth commenced playing the piano at the age of 7. After finishing her studies in the Béla Bartók Conservatory in 1967, she enrolled in the Budapest Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music where she was studying in the piano department under professor István Antal, but also commenced taking harpsichord lessons from prof. János Sebestyén in 1970. She graduated as a pianist from the Budapest Academy of Music in 1972. She clinched second prize in the 1973 Paris International Harpsichord Concours and, in the same year, participated in the master course staged by Zuzana Ruičková in Prague. Between 1973 and 74 she received post-graduate training from Mrs. Ruičková in the Bratislava Academy of Music, and also participated in her Zurich master class in 1975. She won in 1978 a Belgian scholarship to Kenneth Gilberts master class in Antwerp. Since 1973 Ms.Horváth has regularly appeared on the concert platform, giving recitals and playing as soloist with symphony orchestras and as the principal harpsichordist of the Hungraian Chamber Orchestra. She has a special flair for and frequently performs 20th century compositions. In 1977 she recorded her first LP, featuring works by Samel Scheidt. Besides regularly appearing in Hungarys concert halls, in the studios of the Hungarian Radio and TV, Anikó Horváth has scored major successes abroad. She has guest-performed in Austria, Czechoslovakia, the Federal Republic of Germany, France, the German Democratic Republic, Poland, West Berlin and Yugoslavia.
