Cristofori Trió
Orchestra, choir, ensemble
Formed
1987
Cristofori Trio, founded in 1987 while its members were still students at the Music Academy, specializes in playing keyboard chamber music of 17th and 18th century. Following the practice of historical performances, they perform their repertoire on authentic instruments including baroque violin, baroque cello and harpsichord, as well as on classical string instruments and fortepiano. They often perform at early music festivals in Hungary as well as abroad. They have played at the Budapest Early Music Forum, at the Sopron Early Music Days as well as at the following festivals: Festival dArts Baroques de Senlis, Arts Baroques en Avignon et Vaucluse, Musicora Paris, Festival Estival de Paris, Flanders Festival Brugge and Brussels, Bach Tage Berlin and Holland Festival, Utrecht. As on their Japanese tour in 2002, they have also begun performing as modern instrumentalists in the past few years. The trio was awarded the Special Prize at the Old Music Festival held in Brugge in 1990, and won First Prize at the Chamber Music Festival in Utrecht in 1991.
