The members of the piano duo are Dóra Bizják and Károly Zentai. They both received their diplomas in 1996 at the Budapest Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music where they were students of Edit Hambalkó, András Kemenes and Attila Némethy. They began to explore the piano music for two and four hands under the guidance of Márta Gulyás. They also frequently appear as soloists and with other chamber partners. They have won places in a number of competitions and have worked with leading conductors. From 1997 they continued their studies at the Illinois State University (USA), earning master diplomas here in 1999. Apart from Hungary, they have given many concerts in Austria, Germany, Spain, Italy and the United States. As a duo they have given concerts with the Illinois State University Symphony Orchestra and the Budafok Dohnányi Symphony Orchestra. Together with the Hungarian Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra they have recorded Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals. They have won scholarships of the Soros Foundation (1997), the Illinois Schubert Society (1998), and the New York Hans Fuchs Foundation (1999). In April 2000 they won first prize and the special prize at the 2nd International “Silvio Omizzolo” Four Hands Piano Competition in Padua. Their first independent recording, titled Four hands dancin’, appeared in Italy in autumn 2001 on the Velut Luna label. In spring 2006 they won the Grand Prix at the first Budapest Fringe Festival.
