Remarks, other info
"The imagined protagonist of the piece is a slightly plus-sized, middle-aged woman who dances cheerfully, having fun with herself. But she seriously knows that she dances great, even if it´s funny." “In 1994, at the age of 18, I was fortunate to meet Sam Pilafian, the great tuba player, at Tanglewood. We not only met, but we also reviewed my piece Mirabel´s Dance, which I had written at the time, and we even played it together at a concert. Pilafian´s influence and memory have always been with me, any time I come across my piece. So let me recommend it to all tuba players with the respect and trust with which Sam Pilafian turned to the then somewhat inexperienced and young composer.” (Balázs Horváth)
