Composer and chamber music teacher. He was born in Budapest on February 5, 1954. He studied at the composing and chamber music faculty of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest between 1972 and 1977, as a student of Emil Petrovics and György Kurtág. As a recipient of the Herder Scholarship in 1979-80, he received further training in Vienna, Austria, by attending the classes of Alfred Uhl.
Between 1977 and 1980, he was assistant lecturer, as well as a teacher of chamber music, at the faculty of composing. From 1985, he was an assistant professor at the same faculty. His works include vocal and chamber music pieces, songs and solo instrument compositions.
His compositions scored success in a number of competitions (Centenary Composer Competition of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, Creative Youth Competition). He is a recipient of the Albert Szirmai Award. He died at the age of 46.
