“I Was in a Fairy Garden…”

28 June 2026, 08:00 pm.
FUGA - Budapest Center of Architecture
1052 Budapest, Petőfi Sándor utca 5.

… körülveszi bodza // kerítése kristály, mint jég behavazva,…” (“…surrounded by elderberry // its fence of crystal, like ice covered in snow…”) writes Sándor Weöres in his poem Tündérkert (Fairy Garden).

We warmly welcome everyone to a magical concert on the last weekend of June at the FUGA Budapest Architecture Center. A delightful summer song recital about love, cynical disillusionment, passion, disappointment and quiet happiness. The program will feature works by the greatest composers of German Romanticism (Schumann, Schubert, Wolf), as well as lesser-known composers such as Clara Schumann and Volkmann. Songs by Hungarian composers will also be performed. Alongside Ferenc Farkas and György Orbán, the program will also feature works by a young contemporary composer, Dániel Faragó.

Kata Csörgeő (soprano) and László Havas-Horváth (tenor), along with Nikolett Bereczky-Gálfi and Lilian Jászberényi (piano), will guide the audience on this musical journey. We will present the "Fairy Garden” of composers spanning three centuries.

The diversity of love is an inexhaustible theme. An anthropological necessity. As Szilárd Borbély writes in his poem The Little Death of Cupid: „Amikor a szerelemnek vége, egy ezred fokkal hidegebb lesz a test." (“When love ends, the body grows a thousand degrees colder.”)
