(Prä)modern+ Concerts: Variart Trio
30 May 2026, 06:00 p.m.
FUGA Budapest Center of Architecture
1052 Budapest, Petőfi Sándor utca 5.
At the Variart Trio’s concert, different eras and musical worlds are linked by the idea of timelessness. Baroque, the Polish musical tradition and contemporary sounds stand side by side, complementing one another to reveal the timeless validity of music.
Excerpts from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Goldberg Variations, in Dmitry Sitkovetsky’s arrangement for string trio, shed new light on this well-known work. The Polish repertoire is represented by Jan Bolesław Kleczyński’s String Trio in G Major and Aleksander Tansman’s String Trio No. 2, while the contemporary voice is brought to the fore by Viktor Molnár’s work Ice World.
The concert as a whole thus explores the enduring nature of music as a dialogue between past and present, where different styles and eras alike reveal the possibilities of timeless expression.
