Construction and intertextuality - XXLP - A Tribute Album

Marcell Dargay's inaugural lecture will attempt to analyse the composer's guidelines and procedures through his symphonic orchestral composition XXLP - A Tribute Album, premiered in April 2024, that integrate references and quotations from the most diverse musical paradigms into the musical fabric based solely on their similarities in sound form, thus creating an intertextual network in which the individual characteristics of the source material are dissolved in the dynamics of the musical grand form.

The lecture will conclude with a screening of a film of the composition.
