The world famous Hungarian conductor made his debut in Genoa in 1979. His first appearance in America took place in 1987 at the Colorado Opera in Denver where he later worked for seven years. As an Italian citizen he has recently worked quite often with opera companies in Rome, Florence and Venice.
His repertoire includes more the 150 operas and symphonic works. He is an eminent expert of the Italian traditions in opera performance. During his career he has already conducted all of Puccini's and Bellini's works as well as Verdi's greatest operas. He has worked with such great singers of international opera as Luciano Pavarotti, Samuel Ramey, Raina Kabaivanska, and Giuseppe Giacomini.
He has been the conductor at all the concert of the Three Tenors for years now. At present, he is musical director of the Verdi Theatre in Salerno and art director of the Falioni Chamber Orchestra at the Hungarian State Opera.
