Alföldy-Boruss Csilla

Internationally-known musician Csilla Alföldy-Boruss studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary. After receiving her degree as an organist in 1979, she pursued advanced studies in early music with eminent professors Harold Vogel and Klaas Bolt, masters in historically informed performance practice. In 1989-90, she continued her training in period instrument interpretations under Jos van Immerseel in Antwerp, Belgium, subsequently receiving her second diploma as a harpsichordist.
Csilla Alföldy-Boruss performs in concert regularly as a soloist in Hungary as well as all over the world: the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Romania, Iceland, Israel, Canada and the United States. Within her Baroque Evenings in Kelenföld series, she played all of Bach s organ pieces in 18 concerts between 2000 and 2003. She has given nearly 800 concerts in Hungarian and foreign organs. She accompanies chamber music ensembles, the National Radio Choir and other soloists. Mostly she performs with her sister, Eszter Alföldy-Boruss, an accomplished flautist.
The Dutch and Hungarian Radio have made several recordings of her concerts. She has four solo organ CDs and a baroque harpsichord-flute CD with her flautist sister:

2. Baroque harpsichord-flute sonatas with Eszter Alföldy-Boruss
3. Historic organs of Transylvania
4. The 50th Jubilee Concert of the Baroque Evenings in Kelenföld series. Pieces by Lübeck, Böhm, Buxtehude, Bach, Merkel and Guilmant in the repertoire.
5. Romantic organ music in the Reformed Church of Debrecen from pieces by Mendelssohn, Reger, Dubois, Guilmant and C. Franck.
She is currently an instructor of organ and harpsichord at the Conservatory of Music in Gyor and the Conservatory Szent István in Budapest, she is also the organist and choirmaster of the Reformed Church of Kelenföld in Budapest.
