She started to play the flute at the age of ten, studying at the Béla Bartók Music Secondary School Budapest under Zoltán Jeney between 1972 and 1975, then from 1975 to 1980 at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, as a student of Loránt Kovács. She won third prize in the 1980 Budapest International Flute Competition, first prize in the Valentino Bucchi Competition in Rome and was also victorious in the 1983 Barcelona Flute Competition. She was section leader at the Hungarian State Concert Orchestra between 1979 and 1992, and at the Budapest Festival Orchestra from 1992 to 2000. She filled this post at the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra from 2000 to 2003. She regularly performs with the Ferenc Liszt Chamber Orchestra.
