Melinda Scholz studied flute at the Bartók School of Music in Budapest, at the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in Moscow, where she graduated from Yuri Dolzhikov’s class in 1983, and her teachers also included Jean-Pierre Rampal and András Adorján.

She has performed as a soloist and a chamber musician across Europe including the Salzburg Festival, Mozarthaus St Gilgen Chamber Music Series, the Moscow Autumn Festival, the Liana Isakadze Festival in Picunda, the Budapest Spring Festival, the Marien Bad Festival, the Kuhmo International Chamber Music Festival and the Pharos Chamber Music Festival in Cyprus and the International Organ Festival in Sochi.

She has also performed flute-organ concerts in several churches in Hungary and Russia, including the Catholic Cathedral of Moscow. She regularly performs with pianist Márta Gulyás, violinist Vilmos Szabadi, cellist Gustav Rivinius and harpist Júlia Szilvásy, and her concerts are regularly broadcast on Hungarian National Radio.

Her repertoire includes classical and contemporary music. As a member of the leading Hungarian contemporary music formation Group 180, and together with pianist Professor Tigran Alikhanov, she has premiered numerous pieces, several written for her by Russian composers, including Pavlenko, Shoot, Denisov, Firsova and Artiemev.
