Erzsébet Áchim started her piano studies in her native town, Gyula, when she was 5 years old. Later she continued her studies at the organ faculty of Béla Bartók Conservatory, as a student of Endre Virágh. Still during her student years at the Conservatory, she acted as a church organist at the St. Tabán Church, in Budapest.
At the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, where she gained a 2-year-scholarship of the Hungarian Republic for her outstanding study achievement, obtained a degree as an organ-player, organ teacher, choir master as well as a degree of a secondary school singing teacher. Ferenc Gergely, József Maklári and Péter Erdei were her masters.
She attended several mastercourses with the lead of Johannes Ernst Köhler (Germany), Flor Peeters (Belgium), David Titterington (England). She was still student at the Academy, when she won the special prize of the jury at the International Organ Competition held in Budapest, for her outstanding interpretations of Hungarian organ pieces.
After finishing her studies at the Academy she became the organist of the St. László Church in Kőbánya, and later at the St. Vince Church in Haller square. She is a frequent guest of several concerts held in Budapest and in the countryside, as well as plays at masses and church services, both as a soloist and as a partner of choirs. She often works together with the Choir of St. István Basilica, the Choir of Downtown Church, the Choir of Central Lutherania and the Choir of Musica Nostra.
She was the harpsichord of The Strings of Budapest for 8 years, with whom she made several CD records. She gave successful concerts as a soloist nearly in all the countries of Europe. She led master courses and gave concerts several times at the Academia Musicae Pro Mund Uno music festival, in Rome.
For some years she has taugth organ at the Patrona Hungariae Catholic Secondary School as an organ teacher.
She often gives concerts, not only in Hungary, but abroad, due to the fact, she has been invited as a guest organist from year to year to Germany and Switzerland. At these concerts she gives solo organ concerts as well as plays with the partner of other foreign musicians.
She thinks very important to make his native town, Gyulas musical life more riched. She plays several times during the year at the musical events of the lowlander spa, from the Castle Theatre, through the several denominationed churchs until the Renaissance Carneval.
She put emphasis on premier concerts of Hungarian organ pieces, and in the spirit of this intention, she played several times the works of István Koloss, Máté Hollós, Erzsébet Szőnyi, Sándor Szokolay. This year she is preparing for the premier concert of a new organ work of Miklós Sugár, dedicated specially to her.
Out of her 3 solo CD-s, 2 CD-s were made and spreaded in Germany, and the one, where she plays the pieces of Enrico Bossi, was recorded and spreaded by the Hungaroton Records Ltd.
