Levente Puskás was born in the 3rd of June, 1972 in Budapest, Hungary. After music school, he continued his clarinet studies at the Szent István Király Music Secondary School with Prof. Péter Schadl between 1991 and 1993, than at the Franz Liszt Music Academy as the student of Prof. Tibor Dittrich from 1993 to 1998. He graduated in 1998.

Between 1991 and 1996 he was the principal clarinettist of the Szent István Király Symphony Orchestra. In 1993 he won second prize at the Young Artists' Competition in Chicago, United States.

He is one of the founder member of the Budapest Saxophone Quartet, where he is the altosaxophone-player since 1994. Also with the Quartet he has perfomed in many foreign countries and they received a lot of different awards:

-special prize at the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition, Japan, 1996
-third prize at the XIV.Caltanissetta Int. Chamber Music Competition, Italy, 1998
-third prize and special prize at the XIX. Trapani Int. Chamber Music Competition, Italy, 1998
-second prize at the Gustav Bumcke Competition for Saxophone Quartets, Dortmund, 2000

Between 2002 and 2005 the Saxophone Quartet studyed at the Conservatoire Superieur de Musique et da Danse in Paris with Prof. László Hadady. They received their master-degree in saxophone and chamber music in 2006.

He had been a teacher of the Bartók Béla Music Institute of the University Miskolc.

Levente Puskás has been the saxophone teacher of the Egressy Béni Music Secondary School in Budapest since 2002, and he is also the teacher of the Music Institute of the University Debrecen.

He won the Aritsjus-Prize 3 times (2008, 2009 and 2020).
