Fejes Krisztina
Krisztina Fejes began studying piano at the age of five at the Béla Bartók Music School in Szolnok, where she was a student of Zsuzsanna Vermes. By the age of 10, she was already winning county and national competitions, and at 12, she performed on the stage of the Old Academy of Music. She continued her studies at the Béla Bartók Conservatory in Budapest, and in 2003 she was admitted to the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, where she studied in the classes of Attila Némethy and Balázs Szokolay. As a regular participant in international courses, she has studied under masters such as Dmitri Bashkirov, Paul Badura-Skoda and Mikhail Voskresensky; she also regularly conducts master classes both in Hungary and abroad (China, South America, Mexico, and several European countries).
Her competition results are remarkable both domestically and internationally. At the Carl Filtsch International Piano Competition in Romania and the Béla Bartók International Piano Competition in Szeged, she not only won top prizes but also received special awards for the best interpretations of Bartók and Chopin. She has performed in Europe, South America, the United States and Asia, appearing at renowned concert halls and institutions such as the Teatro Colón (Bogotá), the Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia), the University of Toluca (Mexico), and the Auditorio de Zaragoza (Spain).
Her repertoire ranges from Baroque to contemporary music. She is a leading figure in the Hungarian contemporary music scene, with numerous world premieres to her credit, and she regularly makes recordings for Bartók Radio.
In 2010 she was awarded the Annie Fischer Scholarship, and in 2012 and 2020 she received the Artisjus Award for her work as a performing artist. In 2017 and 2018 she was a scholarship recipient of the Hungarian Academy of Arts. In 2020 she founded the Fejes Art Academy Association, which serves as an important hub for nurturing talent both in Hungary and beyond its borders.
