Gabriella Ács was born on 16 December 1986 in Miskolc. She started her vocal studies at the age of 14 in a music school, before that she studied piano for 6 years, and besides piano she also tried flute playing, and played in a wind orchestra for almost 10 years. After completing high school, she was admitted to the Béla Bartók Music Secondary School in Miskolc, where she obtained an OKJ qualification after 5 years. Already in parallel with the vocational school, she started her studies at the Faculty of Child and Adult Education at the University of Debrecen, where she graduated in 2011 with honours. During her studies she worked as a choral assistant at the National Theatre in Miskolc.
In 2011, she was admitted to the Béla Bartók Institute of Music at the University of Miskolc in the class of Gabriella Magyar and Eszter Bojti. She obtained her bachelor's degree in 2014. Already during her years at college she had the opportunity to perform as a soprano soloist in piano and orchestra concerts. Her first appearance as soloist with orchestral accompaniment was in Zoltán Kodály's Budavári Te Deum. In 2014, in recognition of her outstanding academic achievements, she was given the opportunity to sing as a soprano soloist on a 10-stop tour of Italy. They performed Osvaldo Golijov's oratorio La Passión Según San Marcos conducted by Sergio Bernal and Julián Lombana. She continued her studies at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where she studied with Ingrid Kertesi in the Master's programme in Oratorio and Song, graduating with distinction in 2018. Her diploma concert included works by Verdi, Puccini, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff and György Orbán. In the same year, she was among the top 50 singers of the 3rd Éva Marton International Singing Competition and one of the 10 best Hungarian singers.In 2018-2019, she continued her studies at the Faculty of Music of the University of Debrecen, where she studied singing and performing arts, and in parallel, she continued to develop her technical and performing skills in postgraduate studies with Éva Marton at the Liszt Academy of Music.
She has attended several master classes, where she had the opportunity to develop her skills under the guidance of Péter Köves (stage performance course - 2012, 2013), Júlia Hamari (2015), György Vashegyi (baroque music course - 2014, classical music course - 2016), Massimo Morelli (2018), Éva Marton (2018) and Nicoleta Ardelean (2019). During her studies and in addition to her current work, she is actively performing as a soprano soloist. Her repertoire ranges from Baroque to contemporary and includes works such as Handel's Brockes Passion, Mozart's Requiem, Pergolesi and Rossini's Stabat Mater, and Zoltán Kodály's and Gyula Fekete's Te Deum, with Italian and Russian Romantic songs and arias being closest to her heart. She has worked with many of the country's outstanding orchestras and artists (e.g. Miskolc Symphony Orchestra, Béla Bartók Music Institute Orchestra of the University of Miskolc, Concerto Budapest, András Keller, Harmonia Caelestis Baroque Orchestra) and with artists of the Hungarian State Opera House. She has performed at the Esztergom Basilica, the Budapest Music Center, the Palace of Arts, the Music Academy, the Matthias Church, the Óbuda Society, the House of Traditions, the Miskolc National Theatre, the Budapest National Theatre, the Budapest Music Center, the Palace of Arts, the Mátyás Church, the Óbuda Society, the House of Traditions, the Miskolc National Theatre, the Cathedral of Sarlós Boldogasszony Szombathely, the House of Hungarian Music, and is a regular performer at the Miskolc Chamber Music Summer, the Miskolc Bach Week and the Miskolc Chamber Choir Festival. For years she has been giving joint concerts with the Tóth-Vajna brothers.
After graduation, she taught at the Nyíregyháza Secondary School of Arts and at the Bartók Béla Faculty of Music of the University of Miskolc. From September 2019, she taught voice training, private singing and chamber music at the Nyíregyháza Secondary School of Arts and Technology, initially as a lecturer, and from 2020 she took over the private singing department. In addition to the main subject, she taught chamber music, song literature, speech and stage performance.
