Dávid Simon flutist and composer was born in 1984 in Gyöngyös (Hungary). He studied first at the Béla Bartók Conservatory then he continued his studies at the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy in Budapest and at the master's training of the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich as a scholarship holder of the Free State of Bavaria.
He is a prize winner of national and international flute competitions e.g. he won the second place of "De Lorenzo" International Flute Compeition in Viggiano in 2011. His first competition won the Béla Bartók Music Composer Competiton's special award. He has been supported by Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now from 2008. In 2014 he won the Fischer Annie Scholarship.
He was a flute professor from 2009 to 2012 of the Universität Augsburg and form 2018 to 2020 the Kangnam University (Seoul, Korea). He played with Munchner Symphoniker and Munchner Radio Symphonic Orchestra. He was the flutist of the Opera Passau in 2011. He has been the flutist of Hungarian Radio Symphonic Orchestra from 2013.
