Burján Orsi is a folk and jazz singer, choir conductor and arranger, born in Hungary.

Orsi started her musical studies at the age of 7. She went to a music orientated primary school in her hometown Székesfehérvár, where she sang in great children and youth choirs. She began to study folk singing in 1999 and joined the Alba Regia Folk Dance Group. After graduating from high school in 2001 she went to the music department of Eötvös Lóránt Science University to do her studies as choir conductor and music teacher, here she received her diploma in 2005. After graduation she was working at the theater of Székesfehérvár, played as extra and choir singer in several musicals and operas (eg. Leonard Bernstein – The Town, Pietro Mascagni – Cavaliera Rusticana, Zoltán Kodály – Székely fonó /Spinning room/, Erkel Ferenc – Hunyadi László). In the meanwhile she established the Musculus Vocalis Vocal Ensemble in 2005. With this great chamber choir they mostly performed classical choral works, from the renaissance times till contemporary choir pieces. They performed at the Vivace International Choir Festival in 2009 and won the special award of the jury for their excellent interpretation of a classical composition.

Orsi started her jazz singing studies in 2008 at the Bartók Béla Conservatory of Music in Budapest. In 2010 she won 2nd prize in jazz voice cathegory at the National Jazz Music Competition for conservatories. Since 2011 she has been studying at the jazz faculty of the Conservatory of Amsterdam. She established her band, Burján Orsi & The Pálinkálom in august 2012. They play folk song arrangements by Orsi and guitarist Gábor Csongrádi.
