Donát Takács, bass guitarist, was born on 18 May 1980 in Mezőkövesd. His father played bass guitar, so the choice of instrument was a given.
Initially he studied music privately as a student of Gábor Barczi and Kálmán Suha. From 2002 to 2006, he studied at the Kőbánya Music Studio (he received two diplomas for his professional work), and from 2006 he continued his studies at the jazz department of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, where he graduated in 2010 as a student of Béla Lattmann. In 2007 he was the winner of the Balatonfüred Jazz Talent Competition with the Jazzfriend Five (Miklós Borbély, Márton Fenyvesi, Dávid Nádor, Dezső Oláh).
After finishing school, he started playing in bands and formations of different styles and genres, which is how he got into the "session musician" circuit.

In addition to his performing activities, he also works in theatres and makes studioworks. For years he has been a regular participant as an instructor at the Lamantin Improvisation Camps. In addition to performing, he is a jazz bass guitar teacher at the jazz music department of the Lajtha László Elementary Art School in Budapest's XXth district and a regular teacher at the DobMánia Camp.
In 2024, he was awarded the Artisjus Prize as a member of Studio 11, as the group's 60th anniversary concert was chosen the best production of the year.
