He took his degree in violin as a student of Dénes Kovács at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music and was concert master of the Hungarian State Orchestra for two years. He won first prize at the Hubay and the Zathureczky violin competitions in 1986 and 1988 respectively. Since 1986 as a member of the Keller quartet he has performed in the most important concert halls of Europe and America. In 1990 the quartet won first prize in Evian /France/ and Reggio Emilia /Italy/ and was awared in 1995 with the Liszt Prize. Their recordings received several distinctions, including the Midem Classical Award, Diapason d’Or and Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik. In 2002 he recorded with András Keller for the ECM label Bartók’s 44 duos. Since 2002 he has been first violin of the Pulzus String Quartet.
A founding member of the Keller Quartet, he has additionally made a name for himself as a soloist in the field of Baroque music (also using period instruments).
