László Pege was born in 1957 in Budapest into a family of musicians, his father is also a double-bass player. He obtained his diploma at the Franz Liszt Music Academy of Budapest in 1984.
He was founding member of the Corelli Chamber Orchestra and joined in 1984 the Hungarian State Symphony Orchestra. For several years he was playing in the Radio Orchestra of Saarbrücken and in the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra. Since 1989 he has been section leader of the Luxembourg-based Solistes Européens.
