Gábor Galavics was born on the 24th of September, 1981. He started his musical studies at the Csepel State Music School, then after graduating from the Béla Bartók Music Secondary School in Budapest (1996-2001) he continued his studies at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest (2001-2006), where he received his degree in clarinet and teacher training and DLA degree in 2017. His teachers included István Kohán, András Horn, Tibor Dittrich, Márta Gulyás and Rita Wagner.
He has played in several orchestras: Weiner-Szász Chamber Orchestra / Budapest Strings Chamber Orchestra / UMZE Chamber Ensemble / Ensemble Intermodulation / MR Symphonics / Dohnányi Orchestra Budafok / Ventoscala Symphony Orchestra / King Stephen Symphony Orchestra / Hungarian Border Guard Big Band (band member, 2007-2009) / Budapest Youth Symphony Orchestra (conductor: Gergely Madaras) / Teatro di Musica Chamber Orchestra (conductor: Máté Hámori) / Con Spirito Musical Art Association - member / Youth Festival of Contemporary Music (IKZE) regular participant (as both a soloist and chamber musician, and with the IKZE Ensemble).
Since 2011 he has been the 1st clarinetist of the Hungarian State Opera House Orchestra, and since 2016 he has also been a clarinet teacher at the King Szent István Music Secondary School.
