Tibor Antal was born on April 23, 1962, in Budapest. He studied for one year at the Music School in the 16th District, then attended the Music School in the 8th District of Budapest from 1970 to 1976. In 1982, he was admitted to the classical music program at the Pécs branch of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, where he studied under Mária Somkúti, József Csiby, Lídia Kadlot, Gábor Kecskés, and Csaba Horváth, and graduated in 1985. At the same time, she studied jazz violin privately with Csaba Deseő.

From 2009, she taught for two years at the Béni Egressy Secondary School of Music, and subsequently, from 2011, for another two years at the Vienna Konservatorium Budapest. Since 2014, he has been a jazz violin teacher at the Snétberger Music Talent Center. He has been a teacher at the Béla Bartók Secondary School of Music since 2015 and at the Béla Bartók Elementary School of the Arts since 2017.

In addition to teaching, he has released several CDs and has collaborated with numerous bands, including Zonga, MAKUZ, Swing Manouche Project, Hot Club of Hungary, Tibor Antal Swing Grass, Strings on Top, Djangoree, and others. He was a violinist with the Budapest Ragtime Band for 20 years. With the band, he participated in numerous domestic and international festivals and toured throughout Europe and the Americas. During his years with the band, he also played in numerous jazz ensembles. He is the founder of the quartet Viol-in-Time and the Antal Tibor Quartet. His repertoire is based on swing compositions, but also incorporates elements of western swing, manouche swing, and bluegrass, both in his instrumental style and in his chosen repertoire.
